During the prosperious periods of Anatolian Seljuks, the Sultans had the settlements connected to one another with a well-planned (orderly) road network, and had bridges, castles, caravanserais, medresses, mosques and turbes (tombs) built. These were mainly built by the foundations administered by sultans, vveziers and the rich and always had financial funds. Although influenced by Arabian and Iranian art and culture to a large extent, the Seljuks had also their own notion of art.
